Bel Canto by Ann Patchett: Beautifully written and almost musical. Made me wish I listened to opera. A very different love story.
Pigs in Heaven by Barbara Kingsolver: It turns out that Kingsolver writes as beautifully about tomatoes (re: Animal, Vegetable, Miracle) as she does about Cherokee Native Americans and motherly love.
